Promotee IAS officer BM Vijay Shankar, who was suspended after being arrested for allegedly accepting bribes in the I Monetary Advisory (IMA) Ponzi case, was found hanging from the ceiling of his house on Tuesday in south Bengaluru. It appeared to be a suicide. The 59-year-old officer is survived by two daughters.
